Recently, actor Varun Dhawan extended love to his father filmmaker David Dhawan with a heartwarming post on social media to mark the day. He took to Instagram and shared a boomerang where Sr Dhawan can be seen slapping the 'Kalank' actor with love. In the post, he wrote, "#HAPPYFATHERSDAY. Baap baap hota hain. I feel most loved when my dad slaps me with love what about u"

Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan's strong bonds are much-adored by the fans. They are often spotted attending parties together and the two on many occasions have expressed admiration for each other. 

In fact, the father-son duo has also strengthened bonds in the professional front. After starring in father David Dhawan's 2017 directorial 'Judwaa 2', Varun Dhawan  is now all set to star in the adaptation of the timeless comedy ‘Coolie No 1’ which is arguably the most popular film helmed by the filmmaker. The upcoming venture will star Varun Dhawan and current sensation Sara Ali Khan in the lead.

The original film starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead and was directed by Varun's father and filmmaker David Dhawan. As per media reports, David has reunited with filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani for the project which is scheduled to go on floors on in August, this year. While David is all set to return as the director, Vashu Bhagnani, who bankrolled the 1995 classic comedy, will also produce the upcoming venture.
