'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' has been riddled with controversies ever since the film released. The ongoing conflict between Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and director Krish owing to the credits for the film has been making the headlines lately.

Krish, the former director of the project, complained that lead actress Kangana, took the first credit as director, although he shot the majority of the film. However, his demand has been ridiculed by Kangana's team who said that he is a mere opportunist who is trying to claim the success of the film.

Recently at a media interaction, Kangana spoke about all the naysayers and said 'Their names are known today because of this film.  Had you ever heard of them before? Even after that if they can’t show their gratitude, that’s on them. Moreover, whenever someone is successful, there are always people who get jealous. That’s just human nature,”

“I have won multiple National Film Awards, so I don’t need them to promote me or my film. Having said that, was Rani of Jhansi my aunt? She belongs to every Indian, all 130 crore of us, including the Bollywood stars. So, why are these people (Bollywood celebs) so scared? Is it because I spoke about nepotism?” Kangana added.
