The country on Thursday lost many brave soldiers in a barbaric terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. As per official sources, a total of 37 Jawans were martyred and many suffered severe injuries in the deadly incident.

The country on Thursday lost many brave soldiers in a barbaric terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. As per official sources, a total of 37 Jawans were martyred and many suffered severe injuries in the deadly incident.  As per CPRF sources, the 54 Battalion of CRPF was attacked with an IED blast. The attack was targeted at a CRPF convey of nearly 70 vehicles that were heading from Jammu back to Srinagar.

The terrorist belonged from the Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, who has now claimed responsibility for the attack in a text message to Kashmiri News Agency GNS. The terrorists attacked a vehicle from the convoy when it was passing through the Pulwama district.

There was 35 personnel aboard the vehicle that was attacked and 100 kg of explosive was used in IED blast, CRPF sources informed. 

The entire incident caused massive outrage and many celebrities took to social media to vent out their anger. One of them was veteran actor Anupam Kher who sent a strong message on the terror attack saying that millions of thoughts are going on in his mind and he hopes that the government of India deals with the terrorists in a befitting manner.

Several other Bollywood stars including Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Priyanka Chopra, and Preity Zinta among others have expressed their shock and outrage over the incident.

Meanwhile, CRPF also issued a statement following the terror attack saying that the convoy started from Jammu around 4 am. It was an Up Convoy to Srinagar and that around 70 vehicles were in this convoy with 2,500 CRPF personnel.
