Youngsters in Hindi-speaking regions will relate to the incident involving Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh that recently took place at the Mumbai airport. When a boy falls in love with a girl, she automatically becomes a ‘bhabhi’ (sister-in-law) for all his friends. Despite not actually being related, that’s the term that usually stays for a long time. Similarly, Deepika became ‘Bhabhiji’ for the paparazzi due to the friendly relations they share with their ‘Baba’ Ranveer and the actress couldn’t hold her laughter when she was addressed so.

As the newlyweds arrived for their journey to Bengaluru, reportedly for their reception, they posed for the cameras stationed at the Mumbai airport to catch a glimpse of the stars in their fine traditional avatars. Ranveer is known as ‘Baba’, along with Arjun Kapoor, since the early stages of their careers and the paparazzi has often called him by the name while requesting him to pose in a particular direction during the photographs. They share a more formal relation with Deepika and often address her as ‘Deepika ji’ or just Deepika while requesting her for pictures. But they felt the term ‘Bhabhiji’ was apt after their recent wedding and that immediately made her laugh out loud. Ranveer is also seen saying ‘Bhabiji’ and something as they shared a laugh over it.

Ranveer and Deepika will reportedly be hosting a reception in the city on 21 November. This will be followed by another reception for Bollywood stars in Mumbai on 28 November, according to reports. The couple had got married according to traditional Konkani and Sindhi rituals on 14 and 15 November at Italy's Villa del Balbianello in Lake Camo. After more than two days of secrecy, 'Deepveer' had shared one picture each from the respective ceremonies, where they were dressed in traditional wear.
