Legendary actress Sridevi’s demise was a bigger shock for her family than it was for her millions of fans across the world. Her husband Boney and daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor have found it extremely difficult to recover from their shocking loss.
Janhvi and Boney recently were part of an interaction at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where a video of the new actress reciting a poem for her mother is going viral.
After sharing how she gets emotional talking about her mother, Janhvir recites, “Bachhi thi, fir achanak wo haq kho diya. Jo lat marti thi, ab uss se muh mod liya. Apni awaaz kho ke, apne maa ki awaaz mein baat karti hoon. Issi zariye, unko apne paas rakhti hoon.”
(Loosely translates to: I was a kid, but lost that right. Used to kick, which is not there anymore. Left my own voice to speak in mother’s voice. That’s how I keep her with me)

She added, “I can’t emulate her, even if I wanted to. It’s harder to say anything. When I say ‘growth’, I mean personal growth, I don’t know about being artistic. This year brought me both the worst and the best experience of my life. It’s a little strange.”
Boney was also seen getting emotional while talking about Sridevi (Watch video here). After her death, his two families have also got together with his kids from first marriage to Mona Kapoor, Arjun-Anshula being seen with Janhvi-Khushi. On the union, the producer said, “I was going through a phase where I didn’t know what was happening.” He continued, “The children coming together gave me a lot of strength to cope up with the situation we were facing. I couldn’t have asked for more. For a parent, children come first and seeing all my four children together was a kind of a balming effect after the tragedy.”
Arjun and Janhvi will soon be seen together on ‘Koffee with Karan’ and their father might bring them together on the big screen too. "I will direct a film today or tomorrow and might direct Arjun and Janhvi. It has been long that a brother-sister story hasn't been shown.”
Janhvi also said, “Our family is now united, so that is very big thing for me. But, whatever happened was too heavy. We are still in shock, se we haven’t been able to process it properly. I’m really thankful for all the love that we have received, and I got a chance to work, which is a big thing for more. I got a chance to make my parents proud, which is important for me.”
