Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas’ royal looks for their wedding left their fans in awe. For the Indian rituals, the couple chose Sabyasachi Mukherjee, and the actress’ deep red lehenga was particularly the talk of the town after the pictures surfaced.
After revealing the fine details of the bride’s outfit, the designer has now shared what went into Nick’s Burma-Ivory sherwani at the wedding. Sharing a video on Instagram, Sabyasachi shows how intricately the tailors are stitching and sewing the fine details for Nick.
In a separate post, he wrote that the ‘soft and luxurious’ quilted sherwani was designed as per requests for a ‘quiet and understated’ outfit by the couple. The sherwani was created from Murshidabad silk, which was yarn-dyed and hand-spun. Gold Bengal tiger buttons, Japanese culture pearls added the finishing touches.
Sabyasachi also wrote that Nick was very excited about carrying the sword and one in steel and gold with a custom sheath encrusted in pearls was created for him. Nick’s ‘magnificent shawl’ was created by merging ‘highest quality’ chikankari, a zardosi border and cotton macrame fringes from West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.
The safa, or in other words, the turban, was a tissue Chanderi safa while the kalgi at the front of it was rose-cut. The groom’s jewellery featured an opulent necklace while shoes from Christian Louboutin completed his look for his special day.
‘Nickyanka’ wore outfits designed by internationally renowned Ralph Lauren for their wedding according to Christian rituals on 1 December.
