The trailer of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' released last week and the upcoming political drama has been dragged into controversy ever since. Following the same, on Wednesday, January 2, he posted another video on Twitter asking his fans to watch and share the trailer widely.

The trailer of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' released last week and the upcoming political drama has been dragged into controversy ever since. Recently, Anupam Kher took to Twitter and questioned YouTube, claiming that the trailer of the film is either not appearing or is at 50th position. Following the same, on Wednesday, January 2, he posted another video on Twitter asking his fans to watch and share the trailer widely.

In the video, the actor can be seen acing the role of former Indian PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, and in his voice Kher says, "Friends hope you saw the trailer of 'The Accidental Prime Minister'. Please tell us how did you like it. We are waiting for you to see our film now. We have worked very hard and it will be our pleasure if you watch this film, thank you."

Taking forward the promotional duties, he captioned the Twitter post saying, "While we are dealing with the trailer issues of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister on @YouTube, here is a small request from our team with the link. Please re-tweet as much as you can. Thanks." and shared the link to the official trailer.

Previously, on Tuesday, January 1, he shared a couple of posts questing YouTube for the film's official trailer not appearing in the first scroll. He further posted screenshots of the same backing his claim. In a long post asking YouTube to resolve the issue he wrote, "Dear @YouTube!!! I am getting messages & calls that in parts of our country if you type, trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister, it is either not appearing or at 50th position. We were trending at No.1 yday. Please help. #HappyNewYear. #37millionviews"

The Accidental Prime Minister' is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The political drama is based on former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his tenure as PMO and stars Anupam Kher in the lead. The film is established on a book of the same title written by former media advisor to Dr Manmohan Singh, Sanjay Baru, who claimed that a significant amount of power of the PMO was wielded by then Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The film has been making headlines ever since the first poster was released. Anupam Kher's striking resemblance to Manmohan Singh has become a talking point. Earlier a few snippets and videos of Anupam Kher were doing the rounds, where his mannerisms and postures were also seen to be exactly like the former PM and fans were much impressed by his perfection.

Besides Anupam Kher, the film also stars Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi and Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi. The movie is helmed by debutant director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and is scheduled to release on January 11, 2019.
