Ahead of the same, several Bollywood stars including Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, and others were seen leaving for the event. Joining the bandwagon was 'Mere Pyare Prime Minister' director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who was spotted at Mumbai airport leaving for the national capital. Talking about the importance of the event during a short interaction with media, the filmmaker said that it is a very important day for the country and he is very fortunate to be a part of it.

"It's a very important day for India and the people of the country. I am extremely fortunate to be a part of this ceremony. We should not have false expectation from anybody or ourselves. We should keep doing our job putting the right foot forward." ANI quoted him as saying.

Meanwhile, actor Shahid Kapoor who will also be attending the event was also spotted at Mumbai Airport. Dressed casually in black joggers and a white tee-shirt, the actor left for the national capital.

The highest ever 8,000 guests, including VVIPs, will be attending the oath-taking ceremony of PM Modi and his council of Ministers that will be held at the forecourt — the stately path between the main gates and the main building in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

PM Modi started the day paying tribute to martyrs at National War Memorial in New Delhi. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lamba and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria also accompanied him to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said that the country is proud of all those brave men and women martyred in the line of duty. He added that the government will leave no stone unturned to safeguard India’s unity and integrity. National security is the priority.
