Actor Parineeti Chopra and her co-star Sidharth Malhotra were present at the song launch of ‘Zilla Hilela’ from their upcoming film ‘Jabariya Jodi’.

During the media interaction, the two were asked about their take on media-celebrity relationship on the basis of the recent controversy over Kangana Ranaut and a journalist's ugly spat.

Sidharth Malhotra said: "We should not take it personally. We are here for work and you all (journalists) are here for work. We didn’t call you all here to make a mockery of things. I also have friends in the media and we are respectful towards each other. I think this was a personal matter but on a professional level.

He further added: "Our relationship (with the media) is very old, and sometimes it feels like we are a couple, a husband and wife. Like if there’s any fight or disagreement, they get upset and stop talking to each other. I think it shouldn’t be taken personally, rather both should show professionalism, because all of us are here to do our work. Whenever we invite you (reporters) for an event, our intention is not to misbehave with you or insult you. So, I think this incident (the Kangana Ranaut controversy) is one of its kind. In fact, I have so many friends over here, with whom I talk on a regular basis. And our relationship has always been of love and respect, even if you all don’t like my films. And it doesn’t really bother me because a lot has been written about me. Well, I think it’s their professional, or maybe, personal opinion, and it doesn’t affect my performance, my upcoming films. The entire young generation, I think, takes it in a sporting manner since we are colleagues"

Parineeti said, "I have known many of you all from the time I joined the industry, so there is a friendship between us. We talk about many things but I hope this friendship is not misconstrued as we are always dealing with matters about actors being misquoted. I think both sides should maintain a friendly relationship but also keep it professional as a lot of reputation is getting affected. Everyone needs to be more responsible."
