Rohit Shetty's directorial 'Simmba' is an upcoming action film where actor Ranveer Singh will be seen playing a no-nonsense cop. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan, who will be making her debut with this film. On the occasion of India's 72nd Independence Day, the makers of the of the film released a 40-second video with visuals of behind the scenes of the film and some hard-hitting text about fighting crime against women.

In the video, Ranveer Singh is seen bashing the bad men inside his police station. The 'Padmaavat' actor has donned a thick moustache for the film looks sharp and fierce in his character. Sure, his character is bound to remind you of Ajay Devgn in 'Singham', but judging by the video the film seems to be more about fighting for the safety of women in the country. With increasing crimes against women in the country, a film addressing issues on the same is definitely a need of the hour. Recently, according to an international statistical report, India stands first in the list of countries that are unsafe for women.

In the video, they ask people to take a  pledge on this Independence Day to fight crime against women. This is followed by various behind the scenes from the film, where Ranveer Singh who plays Sangram Bhalerao is seen beating the daylights out of the criminals in his police station. Towards the end of the video, Ranveer Singh walks out of the police station and the text reads: Those who commit crime against women will be punished his way.

Sangram Bhalerao, by large seems to have a lot of similarities with Singham, at least with respect to work ethics. Only time will tell whether Sangram Bhalerao is connected to Bajirao Singham or not. Based on 2015 Telugu blockbuster 'Temper', this much-awaited film is slated to release on December 28.
