In one of his Instagram story, he also revealed that the party number composed by Pritam is voiced by Arijit Singh.  

Announcing that the music video will surface on the internet on Friday, Varun shared a video on Instagram where he can be seen engaging in a funny banter with Kiara. In the post, he wrote, "First class out this Friday @kiaraaliaadvani #kalank #safarkagaana#sorryabhi"

The actor delivered a super-energetic performance on the song in a recent award function. During the performance, he even came down from the stage to greet her 'Roop' aka Alia Bhatt.

‘Kalank’ is set in the pre-Independence era in 1945 and the story seems to be a love story between Varun and Alia’s characters Zafar and Roop respectively. About the plot, one can guess Alia is from a royal family and Varun is not, he sweats it out in the workshop and fights on the battlefield.

The film also stars  Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The period drama set in the 1940s will be directed by Abhishek Verman and will be jointly produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Fox Star Studios. It is all set to hit the theatres on April 19, 2019.
