Veteran Bollywood actress Sridevi’s sudden demise on Saturday has left her family, friends, fans, and industry folks shocked. The 54-year-old Bollywood actress reportedly passed away after a cardiac arrest in Dubai on Saturday, February 24, 2018. The actress reportedly fainted in her bathroom and was immediately rushed to Rashid Hospital in Dubai where she was declared dead. Sridevi went to UAE, along with her daughter Janhvi Kapoor, to attend her nephew and actor Mohit Marwah's wedding. Actor Arjun Kapoor, Sridevi's step-son, has been by his step-sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor’s side at Anil Kapoor’s residence in Mumbai ever since the news broke of Sridevi’s demise.
Arjun Kapoor is the son of Boney Kapoor and Mona Kapoor (Boney’s first wife). He also has a sister Anshula. In a heartbreaking co-incidence, Mona passed away two months before Arjun’s Bollywood debut ‘Ishaqzaade’ in 2012. The same thing happened to Janhvi as well as Sridevi, too, won’t be able to see her daughter's Bollywood debut ‘Dhadak’ that is expected to hit the screens on July 20, 2018.
A few years ago, Arjun Kapoor in an interview, had opened up on his relationship with step-mother Sridevi. Arjun told that he shares a cordial relationship with Sridevi and also said that he respects her a lot. The actor does not wish ill for anyone. Boney Kapoor left his first wife Mona Kapoor to marry Sridevi. Meanwhile, Sridevi's autopsy has been completed and along with Sridevi's autopsy report, her mortal remains will be flown back to India on February 26, 2018. Sridevi's last rites are likely to be held in Mumbai on February 26, 2018.
Sridevi made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in the 1975 film, 'Julie' in 1978. As a leading actress, her first film was ‘Solva Sawan’. But it was only after five years with Jeetendra-starrer ‘Himmatwala’ that she shot to fame. The actress went on to deliver some hit films like 'Nagina', 'Mr. India', 'Karma', 'Lamhe' to name a few. Sridevi, who went on a hiatus for 15 years after starring in home production ‘Judaai’, made her comeback in 2012 with director Gauri Shinde's ‘English Vinglish’.
Her last film was 'Mom' which released in 2017 and the movie starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. She shot for a special appearance in superstar Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, ‘Zero’ which will release in December 2018.
