After much speculation, actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas got engaged in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai on August 18 as per Indian traditions. While fans of the stars were excited about the engagement, the age gap between these the duo was the talk of the town. Priyanka Chopra, who is 10 years older to Nick Jonas became a victim of memes and brutal trolling on the internet because of the age gap.

Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar was asked about the age gap between the two stars in an interview. He said that relationships should not be about it. The filmmaker considers himself liberal and progressive in such matters. He said that he has never given a thought to matters like, “Oh, your man should be older than you. Why? Why should we say these things? “

According to the ‘My Name Is Khan’ director, if one finds a compatible relation that comforts them, then why care as to who is older. “Who made these rules that the man should be older?” he questions.

Karan Johar feels that it can be a saving grace to the relationship as the maturity a woman brings can make sure that the relationship has a strong binding. So, he said that he does not believe in it as it does not make sense to him.

On the work front, Karan Johar is soon going to launch season six of his television chat show 'Koffee With Karan'. The show will premiere on October 21. He also announced his next directorial venture, 'Takht' starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is a period drama set in the Mughal era. Meanwhile, his production company 'Dharma', is going to present '2.0' and 'Simmba' this year and 'Student Of The Year 2' and 'Brahmastra' in 2019.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra recently backed out of Salman Khan starrer 'Bharat', sparking rumours about her wedding. However, the actress will next be seen in Shonali Bose's 'The Sky Is Pink', alongside Farhan Akhtar.
