People get retired when they reach the age of 60, but forget hanging his boots, Amitabh Bachchan is in one of the busiest phases of his career at 76. The veteran had three releases last year, one this year already and as many as six ventures that have been lined up for release till next year. The shooting of one of those movies, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ it seems, is going at a great pace, as the megastar’s first look has been unveiled, once again something interesting and never-seen-before despite hundreds of films and characters in his five-decade career.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Big B’s first look on Twitter. Bachchan can be seen with a long grey beard, and glasses, looking grumpy and not affluent. It’d be interesting to know what his character will be all about when the film releases next year.
The movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar whose ‘Piku’ had fetched Big B a National Award for Best Actor in 2015.
The film also stars Ayushmann Khurrana, another actor who gained from the director, having shot to fame with ‘Vicky Donor’ in 2012. ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ hits the theatres on April 24, 2020.
Netizens went gaga over the veteran trying new looks and characters even at this age, calling him ‘legend’, ‘world class’ and an ‘inspiration’.
Even Rana Daggubati joined the netizens in praising the megastar, writing, “That’s the man!! You inspire us every single day sir!! @SrBachchan’s look form #GulaboSitabo !! can’t wait.” (sic)
Incidentally, Bachchan’s look in another film he’s currently working on, ‘Chehre’, also starring Emraan Hashmi, is also interestingly different.
