Just when one thought rapper Drake dropping a comment on Athiya Shetty's picture with daddy Suniel Shetty was uber cool, Zayn Malik has now taken to Twitter to express his fondness for a Salman Khan song. The singer tweeted, "dil diyan gallan tune" and needless to say, Twitterati went berserk some demanding a collaboration between the former 'One Director' star and Atif Aslam who lent his voice to 'Dil Diyan Gallan'. The song features in the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (2017).
Meanwhile, for the uninitiated, Zayn's love affair with Hindi music is not new. The singer, whose father is of British Pakistani descent, is known to express his love for Hindi songs for quite some time now. Earlier this year, the singer and songwriter had taken to Instagram to share his cover of Indian singer Kailash Kher's song 'Teri Deewani' (the post has now been deleted). While Zayn’s fans were going crazy over his melodious vocals and style, the original artist wasn't even aware of who Zayn Malik was, until he actually heard the cover and went through his Instagram profile. Not just that, when he was recently asked which is his favourite Bollywood movie, the former 'One Director' star admitted that it is Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'. Zayn had revealed that he used to watch the Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan starrer all the time as a child. He went on to say that he is very fond of the film's music. He further admitted that he really enjoyed watching ‘Devdas’. While talking about his favourite Hindi song, he said that he likes ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ from Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dil Se.’ However, seems like Salman Khan's 'Dil Diya Gallan' has replaced Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ as Zayn's all-time favourite Hindi song. Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Zayn Malik has recorded his first Hindi song in collaboration none other than A.R. Rahman.
Zayn Malik shot to fame after the seventh series of the reality show 'The X Factor' when he was put together with four other contestants on the show by judge Simon Cowell. The band delivered numerous hit songs like 'Little Things', 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'Story of My Life'. Zayn, however, quit the band later and 'One Direction' currently consists of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
