For all fans of the MCU, the ending of 'Avengers: Infinity War' was nothing short of horrifying. The mad titan Thanos succeeds in assembling all six stones in the Infinity Gauntlet and snaps his fingers, thereby destroying half the universe. Now, months after the film came out and with fans eagerly waiting for the trailer of 'Avengers 4', Marvel has an official name for the infamous snap.
In a book that acts as a tie-in with the films, called 'Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest Volume Two: Aftermath' the name of the snap has finally been revealed as 'The Decimation'. This terrifying name perfectly suits the event that wiped out half the life in the universe. In the book, the Avengers can be seen keeping the details of Thanos' existence and the snap a secret to help people cope. Meanwhile, the name also rings a bell for followers of 'X-Men' comics, where a similar event takes places that wipe out ninety percent of the mutants. It is really intriguing that the name is being released at such a time, for now, there is a good chance that new fan theories will run amok with this information.
It may also very well be the title of 'Avengers 4', for there are names floating around like 'Annihilation' or 'Endgame'. Well, 'The Decimation' seems pretty much in the same ballpark as the other speculative titles. It remains to be seen if our guess is any more correct than the rest. Meanwhile, the fateful dates of November 28 and December 5 have come and gone yet there is no news on the trailer of 'Avengers 4'. Forget the trailer, the makers have not even given a peep on what the title will be. Plus Marvel seems more focused on pushing 'Captain Marvel' at the moment, as it released a new trailer of that film recently. So MCU fans may have to wait a lot longer for the trailer of the superhero extravaganza.
