Chris Evans has sent out a Tweet confirming that he has officially wrapped the shooting of 'Avengers 4' and that will be the last time he will be seen as Steve Rogers/Captain America on screen. He thanked all his colleagues and fans. In an emotional goodbye post, he wrote, "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."
Evans has brought life to The Sentinel of Liberty for almost a decade in The MCU. Several feel that Chris Evans take on the iconic character is widely considered to be among the best superhero portrayals of all time.The 37-year-old Evans first played Steve Rogers aka Captain America in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. He would go on to play the fan favorite in The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier(2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), as well as cameo in a number of other Marvel films.
There was an outpouring of reaction to his tweet, most sad, with even some of the biggest stars in the superhero world weighing in.
Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, tweeted out, "I’m not crying. I’m weeping. There’s a difference." While Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson tweeted,"What a run you had brother. Congrats on breathing life into such an iconic character. Keep on keepin’ on,".
Evans as Captain America had very less screen time in the Avengers : Infinity War. The makers, however, had reportedly said that his character wil have more screen time in the final instalment.
