Avatar And Titanic Surpassed, Box Office Titan James Cameron's Shoutout To Avengers: Endgame Gets Epic Response

Marvel Studios' 'Avengers: Endgame' has been smashing records ever since its release and post recent re-release the film has finally achieved the ultimate honour. It has emerged as the highest-grossing film of all-times exceeding the lifetime collection of science-fiction drama 'Avatar'. Following the same, 'Avatar' director James Cameron took to Twitter and congratulated Marvel Studios for the unprecedented success. Cameron, who criticized the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies last year, acknowledged the celebratory fame of 'Avengers: Endgame'.

Cameron, 64, retweeted an art photo shared by the official 'Avatar' handle, that showed Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man surrounded by Pandoran wood sprite seeds. 

It read: "Oel Ngati Kameie, I see you Marvel  Congratulations to 'Avengers: Endgame' on becoming the new box office king,"

The Endgame directors also paid the compliment back to the veteran, saying that his work, which boasts of global blockbusters such as 'Alien', 'Terminator' series and the 'Titanic', inspired them to get into making movies. 

"To @JimCameron - you're a monumental reason why we fell in love with film in the first place. Thank you for always inspiring us and opening the world’s eyes to what’s possible. We can’t wait to see where you take us next..." they wrote in a recent Twitter post.

The grand announcement of 'Avengers: Endgame' emerging as the biggest blockbuster ever, was made by Disney, which owns Marvel Studios on Sunday. The revealed that the Russo brothers' directorial has surpassed the USD 2,789,700,000 earning figure of 'Avatar'. Following the same,  Anthony and Joe Russo took to Twitter and thanked fans for all the love. "To the greatest fans in the universe, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you..." they said. 

'Avengers: Endgame' which is the fourth and final venture of the 'Avengers' franchise released on April 26. The film is the 22nd installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has been in theatres for 13 weeks and Disney recently re-released the movie with additional footage. 

In May, Cameron had congratulated Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for the success of 'Endgame' after it surpassed the earnings of his 1997 classic love saga 'Titanic'. Hailing the Marvel venture in a recent Tweet, Cameron said, " To Kevin and everybody at Marvel, An iceberg sank the real Titanic. It took the Avengers to sink my Titanic. Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes your amazing achievement. You've shown that the movie industry is not only alive and well, but it's also bigger than ever! -Jim Cameron"

On the professional front, Cameron finally announced the release date of 'Avatar 2' after 12 years. In a recent post, he revealed that that the second out of four upcoming sequels to the film franchise will be finally releasing on December 17, 2021.
