'Aladdin' is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s 'Aladdin'. Recently, Disney released the teaser of the much-awaited film 'Aladdin' on Thursday, October 11. Disney released the teaser of the film shortly after the makers shared the first poster of the film on social media.
The teaser opens in a desert and then shifts focus to the city of Agrabah. The scene soon transitions to the legendary tiger’s mouth Cave of Wonders, with the outline of Jafar standing out front as Aladdin disappears inside while the gravelly-voiced guardian of the cave can be heard saying, “Only one may enter here…one whose worth lies far within…the diamond in the rough.” The teaser of 'Aladdin' concludes with the character of Aladdin moving towards the gold lamp that houses the genie.
'Aladdin' stars Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie, Mena Massoud as the charming scoundrel Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine - the beautiful self-determined princess, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar - the powerful sorcerer, Navid Negahban as the Sultan concerned with his daughter’s future, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia - Princess Jasmine’s free-spirited best friend and confidante, Billy Magnussen as the handsome and arrogant suitor Prince Anders, and Numan Acar as Hakim - Jafar’s right-hand man and captain of the palace guards.
The film is slated to release on May 24, 2019. Will Smith took to his Instagram to unveil the poster of the film and wrote, "LEMME OUT!! 🧞 Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! :-) #aladdin".
