Frontiers of diversity keep expanding in the modern-day comic-cinematic universes. And this time Valiant Comics and Sony motion pictures will work together to do so. Faith Herbert aka Zephyr who portrays a plus-size superhero in Valiant comics is now in talks to be turned into a superhero movie.

A glance into the early life of the superhero shows that Herbert was orphaned at a young age and now possesses superpowers such as flight and enhanced telekinesis. She works her day job as a reporter and later turns into a crime-fighting superhero at night. Her alter ego 'Summer Smith' usually wears glasses and a red wig to hide her identity.

Official date of release or the cast involved in the movie has not been revealed by the production house yet. However, Maria Melnik who penned 'American Gods' and 'Black Sails' will write the film. While Dan Mintz and Neal Moritz will produce it, reported Deadline

Setting another record of breaking the stereotype of being a slim and beautiful super-hero, 'Faith' is going to be Hollywood's first plus-sized superhero. The news of the making of the film is highly appreciated by the audience.  Zephyr who witnessed jaw breaking response from the readers when she was first introduced as a part of the Harbingers series, based on a group of outcast teens with special abilities, soon got her own limited series, christened Faith.

This news comes a month after Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige in May announced a female centric Muslim superhero spin off of Ms Marvel aka Kamala Khan. The character that was introduced in the year 2013 was announced to be hit the big screen following Marvel's Captain Marvel.

Explaining Faith's superpowers Valiant comics stated that her first ability was 'self-propelled flight' but with time she has mastered her flying skills and got accustomed to how to make use of other aero-kinetic abilities such as " 'Companion Field' 'Force Field' 'Shield' 'Moving Objects' (with her force field... not telekinesis) and 'Wind Bursts'." The comic company also states that the plus-sized superhero is a sci-fi and comic book nerd and a huge fan of 'Doctor Who'.
