The production company Warner Bros. doesn't want to take that chance to not release the film in the traditional summer season when blockbusters are usually released. So, when they saw that the June 2020 release slot is open, they postponed the premiere of the upcoming venture. Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Jeff Goldstein in a statement, quoted by ANI said,  "We had tremendous success releasing the first 'Wonder Woman' film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs."

However, there are several Hollywood ventures that turned out to be successful despite not being released in the traditional summer. In fact, 'Black Panther, which is the highest-grossing movie in the US this year with a collection of over $1.3 billion worldwide, was released in February.

The first 'Wonder Woman' venture was released on June 2, 2017, which means that the sequel of the same will hit the theatres almost exactly three years later. The fantasy-drama directed by Patty Jenkins grossed over 821 million US Dollars worldwide. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has several other films for release in the pipeline including 'Aquaman', that is all set to release this December. Next, it will release 'Shazam!' in April 2019, following which it will release 'Joker' in October, next year.
