The series' opening sequence has rarely received as big an update as it did in the season eight premiere, "Winterfell". The much-loved series changes its opening credits with each and every episode in order to portray which actors will be appearing in the upcoming episode and displays the various locations that it will encompass.

But the opening credits have rarely received as dramatic an overhaul as the Season 8's first episode, "Winterfell". The episode takes place in just three locations- The main hubs of Winterfell, King's Landing, and The Last Hearth.

The camera dives in and out of the spots on its compressed map, thus taking us into the Stark family crypts in Winterfell and the throne room in King's Landing as well as through the big hole in the Wall that the Night King's newly resurrected ice dragon opened up in Season 7. The clockwork constructions of its world have become one of the show's popular pop culture legacies, and in the final season, the credits both expand upon that legacy and also create a new one.

After watching the opening credits, netizens are losing their mind saying that"it is the best ever". While one user said that it is "awesome", the other one said "I think it took two years for them to come back and create the new opening credit sequence".
