GoT actor Emilia Clarke reveals 'hard' experience with on-screen nudity

The English actor, Emilia Clarke recently revealed that she was under pressure to perform nude scenes in the famous American Drama Series, Game of Thrones. During an interview for a podcast with Dax Shepard for 'Armchair Expert' on November 18, Clarke shared her experience with on-screen nudity and recalled how she was asked to perform a nude scene she had not agreed to in advance. However, after Game of Thrones ended, the 33-year-old actor admitted she is a lot more 'savvy' now.

'Don't disappoint GoT fans'

The Last Christmas actor also disclosed that she indulged herself in many fights on set while raising objections with the nudity on screen. However, she was always asked to 'not disappoint your Game of Thrones fans'. Clarke also remembers being overwhelmed with the script of season one of the show as she had just got out of drama school and therefore, took the opportunity as a job. Furthermore, the English actor admits that if the script clearly needs the nude scenes, then she will decide to go ahead with it and 'Everything's going to be cool'. 

In order to be more prepared for the on-screen nudity, she came to terms with them beforehand. The nervousness of being on the sets only a few times before, it was a challenging experience for Clarke to be naked in front of several people on set. She further says that regardless if there were nude scenes in the show or not, she would have spent the entire first season thinking she is 'not worthy of requiring anything' and whatever she was feeling throughout the shoot was 'wrong'.

Only comfortable with Mamoa

The 33-year-old actor also revealed that it only while working with her on-screen love interest Jason Mamoa, she felt comfortable. While working with Mamoa, Clarke realised she could set her own rules about how many parts of her body is she willing to show. Clarke summed up the experience saying, 'It was definitely hard' to raise her voice against the scenes that made her comfortable but the ones with Mamoa were 'wonderful' because he would understand it.
