Harrison Gilbertson & Emma Dumont come onboard Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer'

Harrison Gilbertson and Emma Dumont have been roped in to essay pivotal roles in Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic biographical thriller 'Oppenheimer'.

Christopher Nolan's upcoming biographical thriller Oppenheimer has been adding notable actors to its ever-growing ensemble cast, which includes stalwarts like Cillian Murphy, Josh Hartnett, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and others. Makers have now roped in Harrison Gilbertson and Emma Dumont for other pivotal roles, according to Deadline reports. 

Dumont will be stepping into the shoes of Jackie Oppenheimer, a UC Berkeley economics student who was also a pertinent member of the Young Communist League. Jackie later gets engaged to and marries Frank, Oppenheimer’s young brother. Details about Harrison Gilbertson's character haven't been disclosed yet. Meanwhile, Murphy is set to play the eponymous character,  who was a theoretical physicist and head of the Los Alamos Laboratory. His contributions led to the creation of the atomic bomb. 

Emma Dumont & Harrison Gilbertson join Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer

The upcoming film is based on Kai Bird’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book titled American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, with its release date locked for  July 21, 2023. Other members forming the ensemble cast are - Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich, David Dastmalchian, Olli Haaskivi, John Peck and a few more. 

The film's script is also beign penned by Nolan, while he's also on board as the producer alongside Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven. Murphy's first look from the film was recently dropped by makers along with a note that read," First look of Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan's epic thriller also stars Emily Blunt, Oscar® Winners Matt Damon and Rami Malek and Oscar® Nominees Robert Downey, Jr., Florence Pugh, and Kenneth Branagh. #Oppenheimer."  

Meanwhile, Gilbertson will also be seen in Where All Light Tends to Go alongside Robin Wright, Billy Bob Thornton, Brian d’Arcy James, Jackie Earle Haley and others. Dumont recently made an appearance in Licorice Pizza, Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest blockbuster outing.
