The wait is finally over! The makers of the much anticipated live-action adaptation of 'Aladdin' dropped a brand new trailer of the same on Sunday, February 10, featuring actor Will Smith as the Genie. The trailer came as a surprise to the fans as it surfaced during the 2019 Grammy Awards.
The musical romantic fantasy adventure film looks promising from the very first visuals. It features Mena Massoud as Aladdin, who can be seen finally releasing the Genie from the magic lamp. Aladdin, an Agrabah thief and street rat who is smitten with the Sultan's daughter Jasmine can be seen forced to go into a cave where he finds the magic lamp. Following the same, he rubs the lamp unleashing the magical creature inside. The cool blue monster can be heard asking him "You really don't know who I am? Genie, wishes, lamp..."

Fans were eagerly waiting to catch the first look of Will Smith as the Genie from the day the actor announced his appearance in the film. On October 10, last year, Will Smith unveiled the first poster of his upcoming film. The poster featured the magic lamp of Aladdin ahead of a blue background. The actor who is all set to take up the role of Genie, the comical Jinn who has the nigh-omnipotent power to grant three wishes to whoever possesses his magic lamp, teased the release of the film in the post saying that he can't wait to get out of the magic lamp.
The 'Suicide Squad' actor, captioned the post as saying, "LEMME OUT!! ?? Can't wait for y'all to see Me BLUE!"

Aladdin's May 25, 2019, places it less than a month before 'The Lion King' 'live-action' remake in a contest of the remakes of two of Disney's most iconic films.
The thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, 'Aladdin' is in turn based on the Arab-style folktale of the same name from 'One Thousand and One Nights' and its French interpretation by Antoine Galland.
The 1992 'Aladdin' venture which was directed by Guy Ritchie, was widely lauded by the audiences and critics alike, following which it bagged two Oscars. The upcoming venture is also directed by Guy Ritchie and is jointly scripted by Ritchie, John August and Vanessa Taylor. It will be produced by Dan Lin and Marc Platt under the banner of Walt Disney Pictures. Besides Will Smith, the film stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as The Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders and Numan Acar as Hakim.
The filming of the classic tale began in September 2017, and the principal photography was conducted in Longcross Studios in Surrey, England, and in the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan. Smith who signed on to voice Genie in July 2017, was one of the first members to join the cast. 'Aladdin' is scheduled to release in the United States of America on May 25, 2019. Reportedly, it will replace the original release date that was set for 'Star Wars: Episode IX'.
