Isabela Merced teams up with Jason Momoa for Netflix's 'Sweet Girl'

Rising star Isabela Merced, formerly Isabela Moner, will be playing on-screen daughter of Jason Momoa in an upcoming revenge thriller 'Sweet Girl' on Netflix

Isabela Merced has been roped in to play the on-screen daughter of Jason Momoa in an upcoming revenge thriller Sweet Girl for Netflix. Reportedly, Momoa will essay the life of a devasted husband who pledges to seek revenge from the people responsible for his wife's death and at the same time protect his daughter, who is the only family he has left. The show is written by Greg Hurwitz, Philip Eisner, and Will Staples, and directed by Brian Mendoza. On the other hand, Momoa along, with Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson will be producing the Netflix feature. 

"I'm excited to partner with Netflix once again. I'm putting a dream team together from Brad and Jeff to my best friend, Brian, who has been my partner for over ten years. It's a dream come true to collaborate with him and deliver his vision," Momos had earlier said while speaking about producing and starring the film

Isabela, the real-life Dora

Isabela Merced had recently changed her surname from Moner to honor her late Peruvian grandmother. She played the titular role in Paramount's Dora and the Lost City of Gold, which reportedly grossed more than $60 million domestically. Merced has also played the lead role of CJ Martin on the Nickelodeon television series 100 Things to Do Before High School. She had also starred in movies such as Transformers: The Last Knight, Instant Family, and Sicario: Day of the Soldado

Meanwhile, Momoa fights for a greater cause

An environmental activist, Jason Momoa recently addressed the United Nations General Assembly and delivered a powerful speech on behalf of the island nations of the world that are drowning due to the effects of climate change. Momoa has been outspoken about the effects of climate change on numerous occasions and claims that the human species need the earth to survive and not the other way around. He also talks about the impacts of ocean plastic pollution, rising sea level and how humans are willing to force disharmony with the natural balance of the world.
