After Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Roman Reigns, WWE wrestler-turned-actor John Cena is all set to debut in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise with the ninth installment of the popular action film franchise.

Cena, 42, took to Twitter to announce the news that he has joined the franchise and will star opposite veterans Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, both of whom are reprising their roles as Dom Toretto and Letty Ortiz in the upcoming venture.

Sharing a report stating the same, the 'SmackDown' star wrote, "For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It's an incredible honour to join this franchise and this family."

Here's the post:

Although not much about Cena's role in the film has been revealed yet, his appearance in the film is sure to grab many eyeballs. The franchise has collectively grossed USD 5 billion worldwide since first being launched in 2001. 'Furious 7,' which featured the late Paul Walker's final appearance, is the top performer, having hauled $1.5 billion globally. Universal Pictures' 'Fast 9' has been shifted back six weeks from April 10 to May 22, 2020.

Meanwhile, 'Fast & Furious' spin-off franchise 'Hobbs & Shaw' hits theaters on August 2. The film sees Dwayne Johnson's former U.S. Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham's ex-MI6 agent Deckard Shaw joining forces to take on Idris Elba's international terrorist Brixton.

However, what makes the film more interesting is the debut of WWE Big Dog Roman Reigns, who is officially being featured alongside former wrestler Dwayne The Rock Johnson in the spinoff franchise. The four-time world WWE champion is all set to make his silver screen debut with the film.
