The much-anticipated 'Joker' trailer featuring Joaquin Phoenix as the classic DC villain released on Wednesday, April 3. With a gripping storyline and intense performance of the actor, the Todd Phillips directorial looks promising from the very first visuals. 

The film tells the origin story of one of Batman's most notorious enemies, the Joker, the character that managed to mark its place in history with his iconic looks and witty dialogues. The American crime film follows the journey of Arthur, a struggling stand-up comedian, who eventually becomes a psychopathic murderer, the Joker. The film which is all set to hit the theatres on October 4, explores what let Arthur transform into a full-blown criminal.

Fans have been going into a frenzy ever since the trailer released. Given a huge thumbs up to Joaquin Phoenix's performance in the film, fans can't stop gushing over the upcoming venture.

Other than Phoenix, the film also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy and Brett Cullen in the lead roles. The crime drama is the first film in a series of DC-based films separate from the shared DC Extended Universe (DCEU). It is jointly scripted by director Phillips and Scott Silver and is produced under the banner of Warner Bros. and DC Films. The filming of the movie has reportedly started and it is scheduled to hit the theatres on October 4, 2019.
