After Martin Scorsese's ongoing comments on 'Marvel' feature films went all over the internet, several Hollywood actors who have acted in the MCU films hit back at the producer for comparing their films with "amusement parks". Karen Gillan, known for playing the character of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, hit out at Scorsese.

Marvel movies are cinema

Siding with Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, whose tweet showed his sadness with regard to Scorses's comments, Gillan said that Gunn was a director who put his heart and soul into every film he made and he is bound to feel sad if someone attacks his work like this. She also said that everything is portrayed in Gunn's movies, is his own thought process and that makes him an artist in every way and also makes his films a part of contemporary cinema.

While speaking to international media, Gillan also said that she was of the firm believer that the Marvel Universe movies were definitely a part of the everyday cinema. She further added that the world of cinema is a place of art where stories are told with the help of visuals.
