Morelia Film Fest: Robert Redford to receive Career Achievement Award
Actor and filmmaker Robert Redford will be honoured with the Artistic Excellence Award at the 2019 Morelia Film Festival for his achievements and contribution.

American actor and filmmaker Robert Redford will be honoured with the Artistic Excellence Award at the Morelia Film Fest this year. The 2019 International Film Festival will begin on October 18 and end on October 27. As per reports, the veteran actor will be honoured for his lifetime achievements and contributions as an actor, producer, director and also for his success with Sundance and the Natural Resources Defense Council. He served as the trustee of the environmental advocacy group over there for about three decades. The film festival is the most notable and prominent one in Mexico because of its reach and growth.

Artistic Excellence Award
The information of Robert Redford receiving the Artistic Excellence Award was posted on the official website of Morelia Film Festival. Redford is one of the most successful actors of his generation who has appeared in more than 80 films in his acting career which lasted for 60 years. He also produced over 50 film and television projects until now. The award was introduced last year and the Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron received it first. The opening film at the fest is going to be the Belgian drama Young Ahmed. The special guest at the Mexican film festival will be an American film director and writer James Ivory.

Major Awards and other recognitions
The 83-year old legend began his career in the 1950s and after that, he kept on rising higher in his career. He received a lot of awards and recognitions hor his role in the film industry. He won two Academy Awards including one Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2001 and some nominations. He also received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in the year 1995 for his contribution to cinema. He has also won big at the BAFTA and Gloden Globe award ceremonies. He was honoured by the highly prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom in the year 2016 by then US President, Barack Obama.
