The production on 'Gossip Girl' Blake Lively's upcoming film 'The Rhythm Section' has been suspended indefinitely.
Producers of the upcoming thriller told The Hollywood Reporter,
"Hiatus on the production of 'The Rhythm Section' has been extended due to the hand injury Blake Lively sustained while filming an action sequence on the action thriller at the end of last year."
The production on 'The Rhythm Section' had been temporarily suspended in December following Lively's hand injury which she sustained while doing a stunt on the Dublin set.
THR's report further suggests that, Blake's "initial hand surgery did not go as planned" and she will now have to "undergo a second surgery and will need more time to recover."
For a while now, the 30-year-old actor has been sharing glimpses from the sets of the movie on her Instagram handle.
The film is an adaptation of British author Mark Burnell's Stephanie Patrick novels. The story follows a woman (Lively) who seeks to uncover the truth behind a plane crash that killed her family a flight that she was meant to be on. The film which also features Jude Law will be produced by James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, who is teaming up with Meadowland director Reed Moreno.
The British-American spy thriller is scheduled to release next year on February 22, 2019.
