'Spider-Man: Far From Home' opens with a bang in China, rakes in over 30 million by the middle of Day 1

'Spider-Man: Far From Home' opened in China, days ahead of its official release, and it has witnessed a phenomenal start at the box office.

After 'Avengers: Endgame', 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' is the next most anticipated Marvel film which is all set to hit the theaters on July 2. However, the film has already opened in China, days ahead of its official release, and it has witnessed a phenomenal start at the box office.

As per media reports, the movie bagged over USD 30 million by mid-evening on the first day of its release in the country. The latest in the 'Spider-Man' series has already surpassed the first day collections of its predecessor 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' which made a debut opening with just USD 23 million in the Chinese markets. 

This is not the first time a Marvel film has achieved a remarkable feat in China. Earlier, the previous installment of the Spider-man franchise, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' earned about USD 116 million in China while it minted over USD 880 million globally.

Meanwhile, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' followers the journey of the friendly neighborhood superhero post 'Endgame', as he decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent. 

While fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming venture, initial reviews of the film are out, in fact, days before its red carpet world premiere. The critics describe the film as 'extraordinary', and 'shocking' with the 'best Spidey action ever'.

Directed by Jon Watts, 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' is reportedly going to be the last chapter of the last film of Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is set out to save the world this time under the guidance of SHIELD chief Nick Fury.

The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, alongside Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jake Gyllenhaal, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson. The Hollywood red carpet world premiere of the film took place on June 26. The film will release on July 5 in North America while it is scheduled to hit the Indian silver screens a day early on July 4. It will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
