James Bond fans hold your breath as the next installment of this popular franchise is going to be helmed by none other than the Primetime Emmy Award-winning American filmmaker Cary Fukunaga. He is best known for directing and producing the first season of the 'True Detective' series.
While many are waiting with bated breaths for the announcement to hit the stands, the makers of the worldwide hit franchise took to the official Twitter handle of the film to break the news and it did break the internet soon after.
"Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig announced today that #Bond25 will begin filming at Pinewood Studios on 4 March 2019 under the helm of director, Cary Joji Fukunaga with a worldwide release date of 14 February 2020. “We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure," said Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, " reads the tweet.
Earlier, director Danny Boyle quit the James Bond franchise after he reportedly "refused to kill off Craig's 007 in spectacular finale to 25th film". It was announced in August that Boyle had quit over "creative differences". The 2020 film will be Craig’s fifth time essaying the role of James Bond after he succeeded Pierce Brosnan in 2006's 'Casino Royale'. The film is said to go on floors in March 2019 at London's Pinewood Studio. With the latest announcement being made, fans across the world couldn't wait for the film to release already.
