Deepika Padukone graced the 2019 Met Gala red carpet in a stunning pink gown and it is all things dreamy! The actor wore a strapless pink coloured gown by Zac Posen and her look will instantly remind you of a life-size Barbie. She opted for a retro hairdo and teamed it up with a gorgeous embellished headband. She accessorised her outfit with a pair of pink diamond earrings and a statement cuff. The stunner rounded off her look with an oxblood lip colour and pink smokey eyes.

But before she reached the venue, while Deepika Padukone was exiting her hotel, the crowd outside mistook her with Priyanka Chopra and were seen shouting Chopra's name as she was sitting in her car. Watch the video below -

This is not the first time that Deepika has been mistaken for Priyanka Chopra. Earlier in 2017 when Deepika was walking out the airport in US to attend Met Gala, a foreign paparazzo constantly referred her as “Priyanka, Priyanka”.

In an interview to an agency over phone, the actor said: “To me it’s racist and ignorant. And as a fellow Indian, you (the media) should also be not very happy about. I think just because people have similar skin tones, doesn’t mean they are same people. As people in a place of power that the media has, instead of creating a tabloid piece of out it, people should be educating them further.”

At the mega event, the who's who from all over the world took the stage. From Priyanka Chopra to Lady Gaga to Billy Porter, everyone stunned at the red carpet. While many of the celebrities who came to the red carpet kept it dramatic, Deepika surely left everyone in awe of her pink custom-made gown.

The theme of this year's Met Gala is 'Camp: Notes on Fashion'. The theme is inspired by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay that defines camp as 'love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration."

Interestingly, Deepika is attending the MET Gala for the third time. She first appeared at the event in 2017 during the release of her first Hollywood movie, 'XXX: Return of Xander Cage'.
