It’s usually the women who rule the red carpet at any major event, but at the Oscars on Sunday, Billy Porter was the best dressed hands down for his fashion statement. The actor-singer brilliantly broke gender stereotype by choosing a ‘tuxedo gown’ that made headlines galore.

Designed by Christian Siriano, Billy’s ensemble for the evening consisted of a sharp, black velvet tuxedo with silk lapels, a black bow tie, white ruffled cuffs. A usual red carpet appearance for a male celebrity till now, but he interestingly paired it with a voluminous, matching ball skirt.  

The delight on the ‘Pose’ star’s face was evident while waving on his way to the venue.

On social media too, he proudly wrote, “When you come to the Oscars, you must dress up” as he thanked all who made his ‘custom couture masterpiece’ possible.
