The makers of 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' dropped its first teaser on YouTube on Wednesday, September 26. 20th Century Fox released the short preview from the much-anticipated X-Men venture that is speculated to depict the journey of the powerful mutant Jean Grey. The trailer showcases how the X-Men had to face Jean's Phonex powers after a mission to space goes wrong.

Set in 1992, nearly a decade after the events of 'X-Men: Apocalypse', the X-Men in this upcoming venture are considered as national heroes. When a solar flare hits them during a rescue mission in space, Jean Grey loses control of her abilities and unleashes the Phoenix.

Jean who accidentally caused a car crash as a child, grew up to being a young woman with limitless cosmic powers. Being an Omega-level mutant with the physical manifestation of the cosmic Phoenix Force, she is one of the strongest mutant the 'X-Men' series has ever witnessed. In the trailer, several X-men characters including Cyclops, Mystique, Beast, Storm, and Nightcrawler are seen coming together as a malevolent, power-hungry force takes over Jean Grey's mind.

Describing Jene's character, Professor X in the trailer says, "She's all rage, pain, and it's all coming out at once."

The upcoming film is the twelfth instalment of the X-Men film series. Previously, Jean Grey's character has been featured in several other X-Men movies including, 'X-Men' 'X2: X-Men United' 'X-Men: The Last Stand' 'The Wolverine' 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' and 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.

In the upcoming venture, Sophie Turner takes up the role of Jean Grey/ Phoenix. Tye Sheridan will be featured as Scott Summers / Cyclops, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkhölme / Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy / Beast, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler, and Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver among others. Also, the movie stars Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier.

Based on Marvel Comics' 'The Dark Phoenix Saga', the superhero flick is scripted by directed by Simon Kinberg and is scheduled to hit the silver screen on February 14, 2019.
