The trailer of Gali Guliyan stands for an honest film with some incredible performance. The film starring Manoj Bajpayee first released in 2017 at several International film festivals.

The trailer of the film begins with an aerial shot of the slums of Old Delhi. Manoj Bajpayee compares the place to that of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. It is a monument in Lucknow built ages ago when the Kings wanted to trap their enemies at the top of the fort. A person can get into a Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but it is not easy to get out of it.

Similarly, the actor’s character is trapped in the place and wants to get out of there. He hears the howling of a woman who is trying to prevent her husband from beating up their son from the neighbouring house. But he is helpless and in such circumstances seeks help from friend Ranvir Shorey.

Knowing how it feels to be trapped in the place, his desire to save the child intensifies. Ranvir Shorey, on the other hand, feels that Manoj Bajpayee himself wants to get out of the place and is, therefore, coming up with such stories.

Bajpayee only hears voices, he has never seen a face. He installs cameras in the lane to find out who the boy is, but finds no trace of the person. The film is a psychological drama based on a true life incident.

There is a scene in the trailer where Bajpayee is seen sticking his ear to the wall and trying to listen. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa is known to have a chamber which has walls through which people can listen to conversations from the other side. It is interesting that the makers have picked up this fact and connected the place to that of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

The film is helmed by Dipesh Jain and is slated to release on September 7. The films also stars Neeraj Kabi, Om Singh and Sahana Goswami.

The film has already received laurels at several prestigious film platforms including, the Busan International Film Festival, MAMI Film festival, the Indian Film  Festival of Los Angeles, Atlanta Film Festival, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, 42nd Cleveland International Film Festival and The New York Indian Film Festival among others.
