‘The perfect girl’ is a short film that shows how no physical disability gets in the way of one's dream and desire and that all one needs is the bravery to approach towards it. Set in the backdrop of the Mumbai slum, the 14-minute-long short film, begins with establishing the father-daughter bond. The school going girl, played by Sara Arjun, is at the centre of the film. She plays a deaf and dumb girl, and her father played by Raj Arjun is a fisherman and they together live in a slum near the coast.

The entire film is shot in a restricted space near the coast where the protagonist lives with an open space in front of their house. In the open space, a young man (Vinod Rawat) conducts dance classes for kids the age of the protagonist. What follows is a tale of humanity by the dance instructor and determination and perseverance of the child.

The minimal dialogues and dramatic background score make for a great visual experience and conveys the message in a short time span. The story is simple yet effective.

Having to play a role without any dialogues is a difficult task and the young, expressive Sara Arjun has done a brilliant job in bringing life to her character. Raj Arjun is great as the father who adores his daughter and whose life revolves around her. Vinod Rawat makes a mark as the encouraging, selfless dance instructor.

Director Nadeem Shah has done a neat job. The cinematographer takes the brownie here, as he captures the mood of the film in every frame. In a scene, where the little girl is seen dancing, even the boats in the sea are seen dancing to the tunes of the waves. The film captures the beauty of the dream city-Mumbai in every frame and the hope it instils in a person to achieve their dream.

The film has won several awards at different film festivals and has also received a special mention at the 8th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival. Several celebrities including Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Yami Gautam, Rajkummar Rao, Sanjay Gupta and  Resul Pookutty among others have appreciated the film.
