Cliff Divers make sweet music at Oslo Opera House

It was a Romanian 1-2 as nine of Europe's best cliff divers did battle in Norway on Saturday in an exhibition event for the Red Bull World Series.

It was a Romanian 1-2 as nine of Europe's best cliff divers did battle in Norway on Saturday in an exhibition event for the Red Bull World Series.

Four rounds were completed from a platform extending out a massive 30 metres - the longest in the sport's history - from the roof of the Oslo Opera House. The height above the waters of Oslo Fjord - 27 metres.

Constantin Popovici dominated, leading from round two onwards and accumulating 406.00 points.

An excellent last dive from Catalin Preda did instill some late tension. Fifth going into round three, he produced two excellent final efforts to score 403.7 points.

France's Gary Hunt completed the podium.
