Grammy Award Winner Jerry Wonda Keen On Promoting Indian Talent


In an exclusive Conversation with Republic TV, a Grammy award-winning music producer, Jerry Wonda talks about his wish to promote Indian art and talent.

Post a spectacular show of culture and power at the 'Howdy Modi!' event, Republic TV, who is leading the coverage from New York, spoke to Grammy award-winning music producer Jerry Wonda at the Platinum sound studio. 

Jerry Wonda's plan on promoting Indian talent and art 

When asked whether he is producing music for Indian artists now, the Grammy award-winning producer said that he is not just working to promote music with India but he is also working to promote some Indian talent. He said, "Well I am working with a company Venky. Well one of my close friend Bala is into Music where Akon and I and you know Bala, we actually working a project because, it's not just music, like the last time I was there I went to a slum and talked to young artists there, young people there (unclear) so I talked to them but the project that I am doing is something I am doing with Akon and my friend Bala Venkys where we are making an album. In the end, Akon is singing and I am doing the music. It is all a good team, you know and we connect." (sic)

The Grammy-award winner also spoke about how music sees no language, "The integrity of the music is to connect and no language can stop us." On the lines of how music connects both the countries through popular Bollywood tracks which are even loved in America, Jerry Wonda said: "Well I will tell you like this, Indian music is such a part of the culture of music for America." Jerry Wonda remarked about his bond and connection with India and Indian culture through his friends, who all come from Indian origin.

PM Modi in the US 

Indian Culture was at a mega display during the 'Howdy Modi' event at Houston's NRG stadium. The Indian-American community put forward a spectacular 90-minute show with multiple performances. The performers danced on various Bollywood numbers and the show also included some melodious singing performances in various Indian languages like Bengali. PM Modi and American President had jointly addressed the Howdy Modi rally in Houston. Post the mega event in Houston, PM Modi attended the UNGA Climate change conference in New York and also exchanged bilateral talks with various global heads. On September 25, PM Modi had addressed the CEOs of global companies at Bloomberg Global Business Forum in New York.
