I strongly condemn the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, tweets Lata Mangeshkar, pays homage to the martyrs

The nation is mourning the death of the soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the dastardly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday. Social media users have been expressing their fury and shock, while conveying their solidarity with the families of the martyrs. Several celebrities from the film industry also took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the incident. Even Lata Mangeshkar condemned the attack.

Social media users have been expressing their fury and shock, while conveying their solidarity with the families of the martyrs. Several celebrities from the film industry also took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the incident. Even Lata Mangeshkar condemned the attack, paid homage to the martyred jawans and expressed solidarity with their families.

The legendary singer took to Twitter on Thursday to write in Hindi that she strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. She paid her tribute to the brave soldiers who have been martyred. Mangeshkar concluded by writing that she is a part of the grief that the martyrs’ families are experiencing right now.

Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to other political leaders, film celebrities and sportspersons, many have condemned the attacks on Twitter. Apart from expressing their sadness at the deaths, many of them conveyed their desire to see the Indian Army retaliating for the attacks.   

According to news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), 40 soldiers have been martyred in the attack. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion had blasted a 70-vehicle convoy of the 54 Battalion of CRPF on Thursday. As per CRPF sources, 100 kg of explosive was used to carry out the explosion. Apart from the martyred, there are many who have been injured. Pakistan-backed terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility of the attack in a text message to Kashmiri News Agency GNS.
