American singer-songwriter John Legend is gearing up to join the sixteenth season of the American television reality show 'The Voice'. The vocalist will reportedly take up the role of a coach, the position which is currently held by Jennifer Hudson in Season 15 of the show. The season 16 of the show is scheduled to premiere on September 24. As per reports, Legend is roped as the coach for the sixteenth season which is scheduled to be launched in spring. Other eminent vocalists including Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton will be joining the 'All of me' singer.

John Legend has previously attended the show as a guest and mentored on several occasions. However, this is the first time he will be a part of the show as a mentor. Talking about his expectation from the show he reportedly said that he is thrilled to be a part of the musical reality show. The singer who made his debut in 2004 with his album 'Get Lifted', has previously worked with several eminent artists including Jay Z,  Alicia Keys, Dilated Peoples, Kanye West, etc. The singer touched the epitome of fame with his single 'All of Me' from his fourth studio album 'Love in the Future' that released in 2013. The song was a number-one hit at the Billboard Hot 100.

Legend is most celebrated for his performance in 'A Good Night', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'You and I', 'Who Do We Think We Are', 'Everybody Knows', 'Love Me Now', 'Ordinary People', 'Green Light', 'Made of Love' and 'Used To Love You' among others. The singer has been awarded several prestigious titles in his short career span. He is the second youngest musician, and a first African-American male, to bag the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) status. He has bagged the Academy Award for Best Original Song and Golden Globe Award in 2015 for co-writing the song 'Glory' that was a part of the film 'Selma'. He has also won ten Grammy Awards and received a Tony Award for co-producing 'Jitney' for the Broadway stage in 2017. The singer won his first Emmy for co-producing NBC's 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live' a few days back.
