It has been doing the rounds for a while now that a biopic on legendary singer Bob Dylan is in the making. Now clearing the air of speculations, web and Television streaming giant Netflix has finally revealed that they are working on a documentary about Bob Dylan's star-studded 'Rolling Thunder Revue' tour of 1975-76. The project will be directed by veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese and is all set to stream on Netflix by the end of the year. As per media reports, the title of the film, which actually includes the filmmaker's name, is called 'Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese'.

The official announcement of the same is yet to be done, as the makers, for now, have preferred to keep the details of the film under tight wraps. However, talking to Variety, Netflix has revealed that the film 'captures the troubled spirit of America in 1975 and the joyous music that Dylan performed during the fall of that year.' It also stated that the making of the 'part documentary, part concert film' was 'a kind experience, from master filmmaker Martin Scorsese'.

Previously, Scorsese has worked on a film based on Dylan’s crucial 1965-66 'going electric' period. The 2005 venture was tilted 'No Direction Home: Bob Dylan'. The upcoming interview will have a compilation of interviews of the collaborators and musicians from the famous 1975-1976 tour including names like Joan Baez, T-Bone Burnett and Mick Ronson. The majority of the interviews were reportedly conducted by Dylan’s longtime manager, Jeff Rosen, who also did the interviews for Scorsese’s 2005 Dylan film.

Dylan’s 'Rolling Thunder Revue tour' was a successful initiative that took place between 1975 and 1976, and several ace musicians performed on the stage for the same with little-advanced notice.
