American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who is known for her philanthropic activities, recently donated a huge sum of money to help a fan whose mother is in a coma. As per media reports, a girl named Sadie Bartell posted a long message on Twitter on October 1st urging people to help her raise money for her mother's treatment. Bartell's mother Lauriann reportedly had an ulcer that bled out that led to lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in brain damage, and she has been in a coma for three years.

As per ANI, she captioned the post saying, "Hey guys. I'm really nervous to post this. Please help if you can and pray for my family. I'm sorry I never said anything sooner and that I'm suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much," and linked her 'Go Fund Me' page to collect donations. Later, in a note, Bartell thanked Swift in a post for "keeping me afloat through it all."

The 'Love Story' singer reportedly somehow came across the post and donated 15,500 US Dollars for the cause. She signed the donation saying, "Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift." Meredith and Olivia are Taylor's cats who are known to be very close to the 'Delicate' singer.

Following Taylor's contribution, Bartell again took to social media to thank the vocalist and also opened up about her mother's health and the toll it took on her. She took to Facebook and expressed in a heartfelt message on how much the donation meant to her. Bartell, who claims to be a huge fan of the singer, attended her 1989 tour concert in Nashville.

This is not the first time Taylor Swift has come forward to help a fan. Earlier this month, she met an 8-year-old autistic kid, Jacob Hill, who supposedly is a great admirer of the singer and donated 10,000 US Dollars to help get him a service dog. She also met Jacob and the dog Reid at her 'Reputation' show in Houston. As per media reports, Jacob and his family got backstage passes and front-row seats to the show.

In July, the 'Red' singer provided free tickets to police officers, firefighters and other residents of Weymouth, Massachusetts after police officer Sgt. Michael Chesna died on duty days before her show.
