The Kerala floods are considered to be the worst in the century and have so far claimed an estimated 357 lives. The flood situation that has officially been declared a natural disaster has left several stranded and homeless. In a situation like this many actors from the Indian Film fraternity have come forth to donate hefty amounts for the relief of the victims. Several online portals have launched campaigns to either donate money or donate money in the form of buying basic necessities for the victims which would then be sent to them by the portals. Hefty amounts have also been donated by Bollywood actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, and Sushant Singh Rajput to name a few.

Music Maestro AR Rahman also paid a special tribute to the victims of Kerala floods. The Oscar-winning music composer and singer paid a tribute to the victims of Kerala while performing for his ongoing concert in the United States of America. While performing for his concert in the American state of California, Rahman was singing one of his famous songs 'Mustafa Mustafa' from Tamil film 'Kadhal Desam'. In the middle of the song, the Grammy Award winner said "Let's sing for Kerala" and replaced the word 'Mustafa' with 'Kerala' in the song and went on to sing "Kerala Kerala don't worry Kerala."

AR Rahman is currently working on one of the most anticipated films of the year, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' which is a sequel to superhit film 'Enthiran' which released in 2010. The film was helmed by renowned director S. Shankar and starred superstar Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Danny Denzongpa. The film revolved around the subject of artificial intelligence. '2.0' will see Rajinikanth reprise his role as Dr.Vaseegaran and Chitti the robot and will also star Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and actress Amy Jackson in pivotal roles. The film is one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema and is slated to release on November 29.
