WATCH |  Lata Mangeshkar’s rendition of Gayatri Mantra and endearing message for Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal during their wedding rituals

Lata Mangeshkar had a touching gesture for Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal at their wedding. The legendary singer, who doesn’t sing frequently nowadays, recorded a rendition of the Gayatri Mantra, which was played during the wedding rituals.

In a video that has surfaced from the wedding, we see the Gayatri Mantra rendered in Mangeshkar’s voice being played during the rituals. We see Amitabh-Jaya Bachchan, Rajinikanth-Latha Rajinikanth, former President Pranab Mukherjee and the members of the Ambani family, Mukesh and Nita, Anant, Akash and his fiancee Sholka Mehta listening and praying when Mangeshkar’s voice is played.   

Lata’s message to the couple was: “I am very happy that you are starting a new life together. May God keep you happy always. My love and blessings are with you always. I consider respected Mukesh ji and my dear Nita ji like members of my own family. My only wish is for the entire family to remain happy always.” Amitabh Bachchan reportedly gave an introduction to the video and explained the meaning of her rendition to the invitees.

Visuals of Isha being guided to the wedding by her brothers, Mukesh-Nita getting emotional and entering delightfully with their son-in-law are also a part of the video.

Isha-Anand got married on 12 December at Antilla, the Ambani residence in Mumbai. They also hosted a reception-cum-musical concert on 14 December. Previously, the pre-wedding celebrations in Udaipur had seen the who’s who of Bollywood and even international pop sensation Beyonce making an appearance.
