Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta Wedding: Tendulkars arrive in a riot of color

On March 9, Reliance chairperson Mukesh Ambani's elder son Akash Ambani tied the knot with Shloka Mehta, the younger daughter of diamond merchant Russell Mehta and Mona Mehta.

The guests started arriving at 3:30 pm ahead of the marriage ceremony which was to begin at 7:30 pm. Prominent personalities from different sectors graced the star-studded event.

One of the biggest personalities, not just in India, but across the world - Sachin Tendulkar - arrived at the event with his wife Anjali Tendulkar. Sachin shares a special bond with the Ambanis, given he featured for Mumbai Indians - team owned by Nita Ambani - throughout his career before taking up several backdoor roles, including being the ambassador and the icon.

The Master Blaster decided to keep it simple as he wore a maroon kurta pyjama. But his wife Anjali stole the show, despite wearing something really simple. She donned a sari in Gujarati style, which looked pleasing on the eye.

The pre-wedding festivities of the grand wedding started about a month ago as the Ambanis  and Mehtas hosted a grand celebration at St Moritz in Switzerland  with around 500 guests.Several celebrities from Bollywood including Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and others were spotted attending the event. The Ambanis also held an Anna Seva at the Jio World Centre that also houses the Dhirubhai Ambani International School and fed nearly 2,000 underprivileged students.

The couple’s engagement held at their residence on June 30 saw the who’s who of Bollywood making an appearance, like most other gatherings of the family. The wedding reception will be organized on Monday, March 11  at 7.30 at Jio World Center and the attire for the day as Longue suit or Indian formal attires.
