On January 11, 'KGF', the Yash starrer became the first Kannada film to release in Pakistan. The film has already charmed India and was a great success at the ticketing counters, by minting over Rs 200 crores ever since its release on December 28, 2018. In the Hindi version, the film minted over Rs 40 crores and now in Pakistan, the film is already running successfully, with packed houses.
Reportedly, the film had a slow response in the early morning shows but as 'word of mouth's spread, the film started picking up and it made over Rs 3 crore in just three days of its release. 'KGF' made Rs 81 Lakh on Day one, and on day two, it collected over Rs 1.06 crores, while on the third day, the collection rose as it minted Rs 1.45 crores.
Buzz is that the audience in Pakistan is in awe of the film, and it has completed over 50 shows in the neighbouring country, which itself is a big thing, considering that the audience there usually prefer Hindi cinema, and is quite versed with Bollywood actors.
'KGF' has become a nationwide phenomenon ever since its release. It has already minted a total of Rs 200 crore mark and is well on its way to hit 200, a figure unheard of by Kannada films. The star of the movie Yash has also become a super popular name and people are eager to know more about 'Rocky bhai'.
However, seems like there is some good news for the 'KGF' fans, as the lead actor of the film, Yash confirmed that 'KGF: Chapter 2' is under works, and that the script is ready and that it would be even bigger than the first one.
However, he clarified that he doesn't take film's success for granted and that the team would work even harder for the sequel. Meanwhile, the Prashant Neel directorial is jumping from strength to strength as it has grossed more than Rs 30 crore with the Hindi version itself, making it one of the few dubbed films to do so.
