  • Actor Vijay let out a hint about his political inclination at the audio launch of 'Sarkar'
  • However, it is also reported that the actor might have criticised Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan who are into cinema and politics at the same time

South Indian actor Vijay, at the audio launch of AR Murugadoss's 'Sarkar' might have let out a hint on his political entry through a statement he made during his speech. The audio launch was held at Sairam Engineering college in Chennai on Tuesday.

At the launch, the anchor questioned Vijay whether he will be seen playing the role of a Chief Minister, to which he said no. Soon, it was followed by the question, whether he had plans to become a real-life Chief Minister. To this Vijay replied with a politically-laced statement that may hint at his possible entry into politics. He reportedly said that if he were to become the Chief Minister, then he won't just act like one, but will do his job with utmost sincerity. The actor also said that if he did become the CM in the future, he would want to root out corruption in the state.

While some think that this could be a hint by the actor for joining politics, some as reported think that Vijay was criticising Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan who were into cinema and politics at the same time, dedicating their complete time to neither. Making another political statement, the 'Thupakki' actor said that people will contest in elections to form a government, but they have already formed their sarkar(government) and are now going to contest the elections.

However, the actor also clarified that he was only talking about his film and not real life politics. However, in an early interview, the actor's father had admitted that Vijay had plans to enter politics. The film 'Sarkar' helmed by AR Murugadoss is touted to be a political thriller starring Vijay, Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi in lead roles. AR Rahman has composed music for five songs in the film.

Although this is the first time Vijay has hinted at a political entry, he has recently been actively engaging in and supporting causes such as 'jallikattu' and even visited the house of medical aspirant Anita, who had killed herself as she could not pass the NEET exam.

Tamil Nadu has had a rich culture of actors turning into powerful politicians. MGR and J Jayalalitha too were great actors before dedicating their lives to politics. Actor Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan too are now a part of active politics.
