Igniting the #MeToo moment in India, several women have started talking about the sexual harassment they had to face in the past and have also pointed out the names of alleged perpetrators. Most of these names constitute several popular faces. Recently, comedian Utsav was accused of sending sexually explicit messages to women. The comedian, who was working as a freelancer with AIB, had even admitted to his wrong doing, while apologizing for the same. The comedy group AIB, issued a statement saying that they condemn the act and will be removing videos featuring Utsav.

Soon after there were accusations of misconduct labelled on the co-founders of AIB- Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba. AIB issued a statement saying that "We have been closely monitoring the sequence of events on social media around the allegations against AIB and also against our co-founder and CEO, Tanmay Bhat. We cannot overlook Tanmay's role and in light of this, he will be stepping away from the association with AB until further notice." Further, making a note about the allegations made on Gursimran Khamba on social media and even addressing the statement issued by the comedian, it read, "We have also been appraised of the allegations against Gursimran Khamba on social media. However, as an organisation, we believe that it would be prudent to place Gursimran Khamba on a temporary leave of absence until we have more clarity on the matter."

The statement also spoke about making the workplace safer and ended with, "Truthfully, we do not know what this means for the future of AIB or whether there is one."

Tanmay Bhat had recently admitted to being aware of Utsav's nature and apologised for not taking any actions. On the other hand, netizens have been circulating screenshots of Tanmay Bhat's old tweets where he has been making sexist jokes. In another tweet that has gone viral, a woman, who chooses to remain anonymous has accused Bhat of misconduct. While, a woman has accused Khamba of attempting to kiss her without consent, twice. In the screenshot that has gone viral, the woman while narrating her incident said, "In 2015, we hooked up two or three times, consensually and continued being friends. Later that years--on two separate occasions (in October and December ), he tried repeatedly to make out with me while we were hanging out. He lay down on top of me on the couch, I had to physically shove him away, turn my face or push his. He would then stop. And he would hang out, ignoring the entire thing. I continued being friends with him."
